§  About the uniqueness of the EUMEDIS initiative and its projects:

 H.E. Dr. Ahmed Nazif said : 


“ Most of the projects proposed through EUMEDIS initiative are self sustainable, their output will make the projects fund themselves
and continue working.”
 

H.E. Ambassador Ian Boag, Head of Delegation of the European Commission in Egypt said:

“ Unlike many regional programs, the sense of ( ownership) is very clearly felt in EUMEDIS among Mediterranean partners. In EUMEDIS, Mediterranean partners were involved with their counter EU partners in the process from the very beginning and the choices of subject matter of the projects have been jointly reached.”  

 Dr. Sherif Hashem, Egyptian focal point Director also said:

“ The amount of effort that went into the process of preparation of the EUMEDIS, and that exerted in the project selection, as well as the high level of participation from almost all EUMED countries make the EUMEDIS the largest initiative of its kind.”  


 
 

§        About the EUMEDIS’ projects evaluation process and its important elements:

Dr. Ahmed Darwish, Member of the Board of Evaluators of the EUMEDIS initiative said:

“ It is a matter of how the end user is going to benefit from any of the proposed projects.”  


H.E. Ambassador of Malta to Egypt, Mr. Gaeten Naudi said:

“I think the main factor for the EUMEDIS’ projects evaluation is how much each project is sustainable.”   


§        About the performance of the EUMEDIS Egyptian Focal Point:  

 

 

H.E. Ambassador Ian Boag, Head of Delegation of the European Commission in Egypt said:



"The
Information Society Development Office here has made a great role and hosted EUMEDIS Focal Point in Egypt."

  Ambassador Wafaa Bassim of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign affairs said

"The EUMEDIS Focal Point in Egypt has carried out successfully its primary activity, which is creating awareness and offering information."

 Dr. Adel Danish, CEO of Massriya Information Systems and participant in one of the   EUMEDIS Egyptian projects said:

"ISDO really helped in the dissemination of information in the local IT community together with the other various sectors, and brought all these entities to participate in this unique initiative."
