One of the most important output of these committees was the Egyptian  "E-Signature " Law.

Project overview:

E-business is a dynamic and newly emerging set of tools and practices for creating value in a connected world, but it has lacked the single authority which would enable legally binding online transactions and the dismissal of paper-based processes and products. If legally authorized, many believe e-signatures will revolutionize the flow of business and market growth of e-business services.

Businesses not only need to carry out traditional handwritten signatures in an electronic environment, they must also ensure that the data to be shared among people remains secure and under full control.

Substantially, companies are turning to electronic authenticated management solutions to solve these issues. Implementing these solutions, however, requires an understanding of the work procedures currently in use as well as the legal and security provisions in place to support them electronically.

Sharing the same global view towards the value of online trading and towards the necessity of conducting this genuine type of business legally and with high levels of security, Egypt and through the MCIT is working towards drafting and implementing  an Egyptian law for e- signature
