The EUMEDIS initiative
EUMEDIS stands for EURO-MEDiterranean Information Society. This term refers to an initiative that is founed by
the Commission of European Communities in an attempt to interconnect the Euro-Mediterranean communities. The basic target of the initiative is to implement informational and technological interrelations among European Union member states and twelve Mediterranean countries
Partners in the EUMEDIS work together through various projects
maximizing their impact on the EU- MEDiterranean information societies.
Projects suggested should be dedicated to serve in five sectors: e-commerce, education, health care, research for industry development,
culture heritage and tourism. All the projects are expected to be
regional and include at least two European Partners.
